Botanic Gardens

The Toowong Botanic Gardens is better known as the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens but may also be remembered simply as the Toowong Gardens. The Botanic Gardens for part of the Brisbane Gardens and Parks run by Brisbane City Council.

The Mount Coot-tha Botanic Gardens are home to various plant collections, exotic specimens from around the world and landscaped garden areas (this includes a magnificent Japanese garden). The Gardens themed sections also include a scented garden, arid zone, cascades and waterfalls that weave through rainforest terraces. A primary feature of the gardens is “the dome” greenhouse for tropical plants.

The Gardens cover 120 acres (over 50 hectares) and regularly attracts large numbers of visitors throughout the seasons.
