Remarkable Renovations of Local Bowls Club

THE Toowong Bowls Club has seen many changes in 2012, now boasting modern facilities for local residents.

After recovering from the 2011 January floods, the Club has now undergone vast renovations to provide members and guests with a greater social and bowling experience.

The Club’s deals are tailored to suit the varying demographics across the local Toowong area.

Thursday night is ‘Student Night,’ boasting a DJ or live band, along with discounted beverages available from the bar.

Whilst Seniors can enjoy a variety of lunch specials from $8.90 on a Thursday.

On a Friday night, patrons who pre-book a table for 10 or more people are rewarded with a $50 bar tab for all to enjoy (conditions apply).

LOCATION: The Club is easily accessible to the public via Heroes Avenue, with generous parking facilities available.

However ‘Super Soaker Sunday’ is by far the most flamboyant Club event of the week.

For $2, patrons can play barefoot bowls in their bikinis on a Sunday to add an extra fun twist to the traditional game.

Bowls can be played at the Club on all other days for $10 when playing after dark or $8 for a daytime game.

Locals can become Life Members of the Club for just $1, and will enjoy not ever having to sign in, or be spammed with electronic newsletters.

The Club’s restaurant now also caters for lunches and dinners seven days a week, with the kitchen opening from 11am.

Along with an ATM, 35 gaming machines, and the facilities to host functions such as weddings, birthdays and conferences, the Toowong Bowls Club is a fine establishment for locals and visitors to enjoy.

All enquires and bookings can be made by phoning the Club directly on 3870 1616, and current deals can be found online via the Club’s website or Facebook page.

Do you need your battery changed ?

Some people assume having a battery change in their watch is no big deal.

However, there are many things that we do here at R.W. Harrold Watchmaker that ensures your watch stays in top condition. For example, with every battery change we test the watches current consumption. This is read in Micro Amps. This test is very important  in establishing the health of your watch.

This reading tells us how much energy your watch is consuming from the battery. Readings within factory specifications will maintain the normal battery life expectancy. A higher then factory specification reading means the movement is consuming more energy from the battery then is specified therefore reducing the battery life. Instances where such a problem arises can be solved by a full service.

Only having the battery changed cannot guarantee it’s water resistancy.

The resealing process

Here at R.W. Harrold Watchmaker we offer seals and pressure testing for water resistant watches rated at  50, 100, 150, 200 meter resistancies(resistancy is rated on the case back of your watch). The resealing and pressure testing of your watch gurantees your watch is safe to swim in at the rated depth.

Seals that are replaced include, button seals, crown seals(some crowns contain internal seals where the whole crown needs replacing) and back case seals (other seals including glass seals may incure an extra charge). With these brand new seals in place we can then guarantee our pressure testing and that the watch is then water resistant to its rated water resistancy.
