Councillor Jane Prentice’s portfolio of Public and Active Transport & Economic Development encompasses some of the key deliverables of Lord Mayor Campbell Newman’s second term. It includes the procurement of 500 new buses and 6 new CityCat ferries to cater for patronage growth in Public Transport as well as delivering AUS$100m in bicycle infrastructure to promote sustainable travel alternatives.

In addition to this, Cr Prentice oversees Council’s efforts to attract visitors and investment to Brisbane, the heart of the fastest growing region in Australia.

Cr Prentice previously owned and operated a successful conference and event management business, which handled some of Brisbane’s largest conventions and events. Jane served for many years as a Director of Brisbane Tourism. Jane is currently a member of the Queensland Executive of ATUG (Australian Telecommunications Users Group) and a member of the Australian Institute of Management. Jane is also a Queensland Board Member with the Australian Red Cross and is a passionate member of many community groups.
